Making Button Pins and Brooches with Deborah Acquino

SATURDAY, MAY 30 | 1-2 PM

Inspired by our current exhibition, The Story of America, young artists will design and create their own custom button pins and brooches that celebrate identity, community, history, and self-expression. Participants will explore how symbols, slogans, portraits, and personal stories have been used throughout American history to communicate ideas and inspire change.

Kids will learn simple design techniques while crafting wearable artworks they can proudly take home and share. From bold patriotic imagery to personal messages about what America means to them today, this hands-on workshop encourages creativity, storytelling, and imagination through art.

Making Felt Pennants with Deborah Acquino

SATURDAY, JUNE 6 | 1-2 PM

Design a bold and personal banner in this creative class for kids at Southampton Arts Center! Students will create their own unique pennants while exploring color, composition, lettering, and visual storytelling. Through guided prompts and playful experimentation, young artists will express their personalities, interests, and ideas in a fun and supportive studio environment. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind creation ready to proudly display.


Create and Decorate Paper Hats

Step into the world of wearable art in this imaginative class for kids at Southampton Arts Center! Young artists will dream up and design their own playful paper hats inspired by costumes, celebrations, animals, fantasy characters, and more. Through creative exploration of shape, color, pattern, and storytelling, students will transform simple ideas into bold headpieces full of personality and flair. This fun, hands-on class encourages self-expression, creativity, and imaginative thinking while each child leaves with a one-of-a-kind hat to wear and enjoy.


Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band

Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band returns this summer for joyful, music-filled Tuesday mornings with Bandleader Jeff. Held under a tent in a private gated arboretum, these interactive classes invite little ones and their caregivers to sing, dance, and jam together in a fun outdoor setting.

9:30 (0-3 Years) | 10:45 (0-3 Years) | 12 PM (0-24 months)

Older siblings aged 4-5 years may also register in the 0-3 years classes​.


Create Campaign Posters with Deborah Acquino

SATURDAY, JUNE 20 | 1-2 PM

Raise your voice through art in this engaging class for kids at Southampton Arts Center! Young artists will design eye-catching campaign posters inspired by causes, ideas, and messages they care about most. Whether promoting kindness, protecting animals, saving the planet, or inventing a campaign of their own, students will explore how artists and designers use images, color, slogans, and composition to communicate powerful ideas. This creative class encourages self-expression, critical thinking, and imaginative problem-solving while each child creates a bold poster that shares their unique perspective with the world.
