Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory & One Christmas

November 28 to November 30, Center Stage SAC will present, for a second triumphant year, Truman Capote’s “One Christmas” and “A Christmas Memory.” Last year’s performances captivated audiences, who clamored for the one-weekend only encore performance this year.

Produced through special arrangement with, and permission granted by, The Truman Capote Literary Trust, Center Stage will again bring life to the bittersweet, heartwarming and thought-provoking prose of Truman, one of the 20th Century’s greatest writers. Capote captures the magic and wonder of the holidays as he tells the stories of his life before the glittering kiss of fame. Set during The Great Depression in the early 1930s, Capotes shines a light on life in rural Alabama, and on his relationship with his lovingly eccentric cousin Sook. Together, during two Christmases, the pair learns lifetime lessons of love, loss and the power of enduring friendship.

In “One Christmas,” young Buddy leaves the warmth and homespun joys of Alabama for a holiday in New Orleans with his largely absent father — and learns life-altering lessons about life and loss. And in “A Christmas Memory,” Capote immortalizes his beloved cousin Sook, who taught him about kindness, sharing and a deep and abiding forever love.

The cast includes: Danial Becker, Susan Cincotta, Tom Gregory, Vincenzo James Harty, JoAnna Mincarelli, Jack Seabury
